Stake Limbo gives each round a maximum multiplier. You set a target multiplier, and if the round's generated value lands at or above it, you win that target; otherwise you lose. The multiplier is built from a single HMAC-SHA256 value over your server seed, client seed and nonce, then transformed through Limbo's distribution.
Because the value is fixed by the seed pair the instant you bet, the outcome is set before the visual count-up even starts. The hashed server seed is the pre-commitment; once revealed on rotation, anyone can reproduce the multiplier and confirm nothing was changed after the bet.
Your win chance at target x is about 99/x percent - a 2x target wins roughly half the time, a 10x target about 1 in 10, and a 100x target about 1 in 100. The 99 instead of 100 is Stake's 1% house edge. Higher targets pay far more but hit far less often, and the maximum multiplier is extremely rare by design.

Limbo's expected value is the same at every target - the 1% edge applies whether you aim for 1.5x or 1,000x - so 'low and steady' versus 'big and rare' is purely a variance choice, not an edge choice. A verifier cannot improve those odds; it can only prove the multiplier you got was the one the seed dictated.
